Black Diamond Bash 2011 a Success!
The Black Diamond Bash was once again a huge success in 2011. Over 400 people attended the event on November 4th, and we raised over $60,000 for NASA.
For pictures of the event, please click here or on the image below. Thanks for supporting NASA by donating items, as well as attending the event and bidding on all of the terrific prizes.
What is the Black Diamond Bash?

As part of joining a NASA club, each family is required to contribute to the Silent & Live Auction by purchasing tickets to attend the event and provide or solicit items for the auction. For details, please see Volunteering & Fundraising. The commitment is per athlete registered. (Mini-Meisters and NGI athletes are exempt from any obligation, but are encouraged to join in the fun and help with the fundraising if possible).
However, if every family only does the minimum, we won't hit our budget targets. Since we are a non-profit organization, we will set some challenges out there to see if we can all do a little bit more than the minimum.
The success of the auction depends on attracting as many guests as possible – invite your co-workers, family, friends and neighbours for a great night out.
How can I buy tickets?
You can buy tickets by clicking on this link to the on-line ticket sales site. There, you can pay by cheque, MC or visa, and have your tickets mailed to you. Or, if you are a club member, we will have ticket sellers at club sessions - watch for emails with details.
How can I collect auction item donations?
When you purchase goods or services from local Calgary businesses ask if they would help support a great family oriented sports club - you'd be surprised at how much support you will receive for this great cause. Ask your hairstylist, your dentist, co-workers, etc. You never know who will say "yes" until you ask.
Use the letter and form found at this link (click here) in order to ask for donations.
Please do NOT ask local, Banff or Canmore ski shops as the Auction Committee are approaching them (to prevent them from having to deal with multiple requests). Thank you.
If you have any questions about auction items, please contact our Auction Item Coordinator, Ariana Brosha, at darkambra@shaw.ca or 403-837-3254.
How Can I Volunteer or Who Can Answer My Questions?
If you want to volunteer, please contact our volunteer coordinator, Lisa Wallace at lisa.wallace@shaw.ca. The more help, the better!
