<p><strong><em>What?</em></strong></p>
<p>The Paskapoo Alpine Racing Team K1 program is the first step into the NASA "performance level" programs.&nbsp; This program is designed to improve the athlete's fundamental skiing skills with a greater emphasis on preparing the athletes for competition.&nbsp; The K1 program includes a comprehensive spring and fall dryland training program (including a Gymnastics program) which will educate and prepare these young athletes for the higher volume of on-snow training and racing.&nbsp; The K1 program follows the guidelines and recommendations as outlined by Alpine Canada for the "Learn to Train" and "Learn to Race" development phases.</p>
<p><strong><em>Where, When and How Often?</em></strong></p>
<p>The K1 program includes a June dryland training program as well as a fall dryland program that begins in early September.&nbsp; Optional add-on summer skiing and dryland camps are also offered for K1 athletes during July and August.</p>
<p>Regular season on-snow training begins as soon as possible in November.&nbsp; Training take place on weekends (Saturdays and Sundays) primarily at Nakiska and Wednesday and Thursday evenings at COP.&nbsp; Sunshine Village is utilized in the early and late season for techncial freeskiing.&nbsp; Additional training will be offered at other venues as snow conditions and the race schedule warrant.</p>
<p>In general, the on-snow training runs from <strong>9:00am</strong> to <strong>3:00pm</strong> each day with a 45-minute lunch break.&nbsp; Evening training at COP runs from <strong>6:00pm</strong> to <strong>8:30pm.</strong></p>
