Mount Allan Ski Team

Our U12 athletes work to consolidate and refine basic ski skills while increasing the volume of training. U12 athletes participate in an extended season and have opportunities for add-on training days that align with school PD days. Athletes continue to race slalom (SL), giant slalom (GS), kinder kombi (KK) and are introduced to parallel events. Our U12 athletes also compete in the Alberta Alpine U12 Provincial Race Series.

Who: Athletes born in 2008 and 2009.

 

When: Monday pre-season Parkour training. Tuesday and Saturday pre-season dryland training. Saturday and Sunday, full day, on-snow program. Tuesday and Thursday evening training at Winsport. One weekend per month is spent training at Sunshine.

Time: Warm-up begins at 8:30 am. Group departs for chairlift at 9:00 am and finishes their day by 3:00 pm with a group cool-down. Lunches are timed to reflect an appropriate break in training and may be held at mid-mountain lodge. Athletes each lunch with their team.

Start: On-snow program starts Saturday, November 9, 2019.

Days Off: There is no skiing on February 15 and 16, 2020 for Family Day long weekend. 

Finish: The program finishes on April 26, 2020 (weather dependent).

Additional Fees: $25 per parent for Alberta Alpine Family Membership Fee and $106 per family for NASA Family Membership Fee.

Fees Not Included in Program: Equipment, Lift Ticket, Race Entry Fees.

Volunteer Commitment: There is a $300 Volunteer opt-out/bond deposit per NASA family (excluding minimeister athletes). Please see our volunteer for more details.

Fundraising Commitment: There is a $150 Fundraising opt-out/bond-deposit per U12 athlete. Please see our fundraising policy for more details.

Race Starts: U12 athletes will participate in the Alberta Alpine U12 Provincial Race Series, which includes 4 weekend race events. Overnight travel to races is required to participate in a few of these events. Location of races is determined by Alberta Alpine.
